Our Beliefs

What does NJC believe?

Jesus is the Subject:

We believe that Jesus is God, and that He loves you. Our goal in life is to follow him daily.

People Matter:

We believe that the hearts of the people who drive by our church are just as important as those who call New Journey their church home. That’s why we try to partner with our community through family events, and acts of service. We want you to know that God loves you and has a plan for your life!

The Bible:

We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God.

We believe that the Bible is God’s primary mode of communication for us, and so we read it, study it, highlight it, pray with it, and allow it to shape our lives.

We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that God the Father created the universe, and recognize that he is ultimately in control of it. At the same time we’re amazed that he knows us and cares about us personally.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, paid the cost of our sins by allowing us to execute him, that he conquered death by raising from the dead, and then went back to heaven where he sits at the right hand of God the Father.

We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s presence on Earth and in our hearts. It’s the Holy Spirit that enables us to fulfill His command to share the news of God’s Grace to the entire world.

We believe that the world is messed up because of sin, and that people are responsible for their own actions and intentions. Because of our sin, all people are by nature separated from God’s original plan to be in a perfect relationship with Him. But……

We also believe that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness of sin are freely offered to everyone by the grace Jesus! We believe that when a person turns away from their sin and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, they are immediately born again, their soul is immediately regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a Child of God, destined to spend eternity in heaven with the Lord.

We believe that the local church is a family of people who are committed to walk with one another to worship God, and grow closer in our relationship to Him. We do that through seeking God, serving others, and sharing life together.
